HOHHOT – June 8 was the first competition day of the 13th WUC Taekwondo, with 22 athletes from 11 nations (AUS, CHN, GER, INA, POL, THA, TPE, PHI, KOR, USA & EGY) entering the semi-final and final of the Poomsae individual competition.
In the women’s individual final, the athletes competed fiercely against each other. Finally, Xia Yu from People’s Republic of China took the first gold medal in this championship, leaving the silver for Salisa Amnuaychai from Thailand, whereas two athletes from Korea and Philippines tied at the third place.
In the men’s final, Yun Handong from Korea won the gold medal, Zhu Yuxiang from China won the silver medal, and two athletes from Indonesia and Thailand tied for the bronze medal.
