10th WUC Archery – Last Preparations

LEGNICA – There are just few hours left to the inauguration of the 10th World University Archery Championship! Twenty-nine national teams have already arrived in Legnica, while the Organizing Committee still awaits Austria, Norway and Ukraine. So far, 180 competitors and 56 officials have been accreditated.

The most vital point of yesterday, 1July was the meeting between Members of the Organizing Committee and the FISU Officials represented by Tai-Cheng Chen, Member of the FISU Executive Committee; Juan Carlos Holgado, FISU Technical Delegate for Archery;  Meziane Hasnaoui,  FISU CIC member; Julien Carrel, FISU Assistant World University Championships and , Peter Katzmaier, Member of the FISU Medical Committee. During the work meeting, the President of the Organizing Committee Józef Baściuk said: ‘We have done our best to make this Championship an unforgettable event and I wish that everyone leaves Legnica with good memories.’ Furthermore, the last details concerning the Opening Ceremony were discussed.

After their practice session and meals, the student-athletes spent their free time in the city centre. In the meantime, the volunteers worked on the last details to make the competition venue picture perfect.
