STRBSKE PLESO – The first competition of the Nordic Combined (Gundersen Individual) was held today in Strbske Pleso.
Adam Cieslar (POL), Gold Medallist of this first nordic combined event
Third after the jump event on the 100m hill, Adam Cieslar (POL) surprised everyone (starting with himself) by winning brilliantly during the 10km cross-country ski race. “I felt particularly strong today and the conditions were perfect, despite the fog. At the end of the cross country race I gave everything and am amazed myself. I never reached such a level before”, Adam commented. An excellent result for this 22-year old Physical Education student from the University of Warsaw. His compatriot Sczepan Kupczak also mounted the podium (bronze) confirming all the good that we thought of this Polish Nordic combined team in full revival. Germany’s David Welde completed the podium with a stunning second place.
