MUNICH – On July 10th – 12th, the 2018 World University Beach Volleyball Championship Organising Committee (OC) had the pleasure to welcome FISU Beach Volleyball Technical Delegate Mario Ferro, FISU WUC department representative Julien Carrel and FISU Executive Assistant of the Winter Universiade Jiho Kim to Munich for their inspection visit.  The OC coordinated their bi-monthly meeting so that it corresponded with the visit.  This provided a unique opportunity for the team to meet and learn from the FISU guests.

One of the main discussion topics was the layout of the center court and how to incorporate it best into the newly constructed sports facilities. The FISU technical delegate, Mario Ferro, had many insights and tips on how to achieve the perfect layout for the tournament.  His contributions will certainly improve the overall user experience for players, spectators, management, and volunteers alike.

All members of the OC were able to discuss many topics with the FISU representatives.  The discussions ranged from protocol to catering and tournament staff.  “This was a big milestone in the planning of the WUC. We are confident that we are on the right track and happy with the feedback.  Especially helpful for me, was their input in regards to the layout of the center court,” said Michael Hahn, Head of Central University Sports Munich after the visit.
