LINGWU – With the last whistle blown in the venue, the 2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal & Cheerleading Championship finally concluded on 25 September. During 8 days, 4 cheerleading teams from Mongolia, Chinese Taipei and China, as well as 9 futsal teams from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Caledonia, Oman, Chinese Taipei and China participated in the Championship. 25 futsal matches, together with 5-discipline competition and team competition of cheerleading in the halftime were displayed for Lingwu City with an audience of tens of thousands watching through Jing-Sport live broadcasting.
Futsal Final
The futsal final was played between Iran and Oman in front of a fully seated Lingwu stadium with 1,500 fans witnessing the golden game to crown a champion. After a thriller of a game, Iran won the Championship by 5:4.
Cheerleading
In the Cheerleading Team Competition China (Beijing Sports University) won the 1st Place, Chinese (Hebei Normal University) won the 2nd Place and the 3rd Place went to Chinese Taipei and Mongolia.
Educational Programme: AUSF-NUSF Workshop
During the championship an AUSF-NUSF Workshop was staged as well, on 23 September. The 2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal & Cheerleading Championship was the first joint programme of AUSF and Oceania University Sports Association. It was also the first time for AUSF to have a workshop during championships, aiming to offer a chance for coaches and team officials to communicate and share experiences with each other.
