2018 WUC Beach Volleyball was a great success
FISU and the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the international governing body for volleyball, have announced a new four-year collaboration for Beach Volleyball within the University Sports Movement
LAUSANNE — Following fruitful meetings between the FISU World University Championships Department and the FIVB Beach Volleyball Department, the two organisations are delighted to announce the signature of a new four-year cycle collaboration between FISU and FIVB for Beach Volleyball.
The aim of the signing is to build upon the sports popularity among student-athletes and provide their the best competition opportunities within the international university sports movement.
Following the signing, the FISU World University Beach Volleyball Championships is now considered a FIVB Beach Volleyball 1-star event. This agreement reinforces the relations between the two world governing bodies and strengthens the growth of Beach Volleyball.
The 2016 World University Beach Volleyball event drew an ethusiastic international class of players to the Baltic seaside city of Parnu, Estoina. The 2018 event in Munich looks to further this tradition. The 2016 FISU World University Beach Volleyball Championship organised in Parnu, Estonia saw many of the most talented players in the Beach Volleyball world compete for the titles. Next week, the top student-athlete beach volley ball players meet again in the city of Munich looking for gold. A total of 32 women’s teams and 32 men’s teams from 29 different countries will compete in the beautiful Olympic Park venue in an event hosted by the Technical University of Munich.
