New governing bodies of FADU Portugal took possession for 2019-2021

JAMOR – André Reis had his first official act since he has elected as the president of FADU Portugal University Sports Federation for 2019/2021. The ceremony, where the new governing bodies of FADU took possession, was held at Portuguese National Stadium on this Tuesday. In his first speech, Reis spoke about the intention to monitor the application of the student-athlete statute, approved this year, the effective implementation of sport for all, the collaboration with the national sports federations and international structures and have more competitively in all sports events.

 

Present at the ceremony were the secretary of State for Youth and Sport, João Paulo Rebelo, and the outgoing president of FADU, Daniel Monteiro, who left a few words. ‘I have to thank the teams who work with me for the last two mandates and I am sure that when André Reis leaves, i will have the same compliments to do about his team work’.

 

At the iconic Honor Tribune of National Stadium of Jamor, about two hundred people attended this ceremony, national sports and higher education representatives, leaders and presidents of sports federations, clubs, academic associations and student’s union, national government bodies, local authorities and partners.

 

The new Executive Board, led by the President of FADU, André Reis, has 9 members. The other governing bodies that took office this week are the General Assembly, Audit, Disciplinary and Justice Board. The mandate of the governing bodies is 2 years (2019-2021) coinciding with the period of a Universiade.
