Two Portuguese universities receive Healthy Campus award at futsal event

Luis Paulo Rodrigues, Luciano Cabral and Ana Sofia RodriguesFISU has delivered two more Healthy Campus Certificates at the occasion of the FISU World University Championship Futsal held in the cities of Braga and Guimarães, in Portugal. The awards went to the University of Aveiro and the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo.

 

Delivering the Certificates at the event’s official dinner, FISU First Acting Vice President Luciano Cabral said: “Healthy Campus is one of FISU’s most innovative projects of the past 20 years. It is a programme that trains high performance citizens for a more sustainable future, when the general wellbeing of all will be crucial for social development.”

 

Luciano Cabral and Manuel Matias The University of Aveiro, which hosted the FISU World University Championship Cross Country earlier this year, was represented by the Vice-Rector Manuel Matias and received the “Silver Certificate”. 

 

The Polytechnic Institute of Viana obtained the Platinum certificate – the highest level – within its first year of participation in the Healthy Campus Programme. 

 

Ana Sofia Rodrigues, one of the Institute’s two representatives with Luis Paulo Rodrigues, said : “It has been a great honour and a privilege to join and collaborate with this initiative, and to receive this award in person.”

 

The FISU Healthy Campus Programme now counts 98 Universities from 31 countries, 47 of which are already certified.
