The Polish paddlers were in outstanding form and monopolized most of the medals at the 2022 FISU World University Championship Canoe Sprint held in Bydgoszcz.
The Polish city welcomed 159 participants from 18 countries who competed in 28 races.
The student-athletes from the host country won 25 medals out of 81 possible in total, including 19 gold out of 28 possible.
Another star of the event was Serghei Tarnovischi, from Moldova, who won all the Canoe single races in the men category.
“I’m very happy to have won my first medal at a FISU World University Championship on 200 meters. This distance is not easy for me, because I usually compete on 1000 or 500 meters,” said the triple gold winner.
