The FISU World Forum 2022 to be held from 5-9 December in Cartago (Costa Rica) had the honour of the National Parliament, where it was presented by Laura Sancho Martínez, Executive Director of the Forum.
The presentation was attended by Mrs. Marie Munive, Vice President of the Republic, Mrs. Rosaura Mendez, Deputy and member of the FISU Executive Committee, as well as authorities of the Costa Rican Universities.
Under the main theme “University Sports as a driver for sustainable development”, the Forum will take place on the Campus of the Technological Institute from Costa Rica (above picture).
“I am very excited that Costa Rica is hosting such an important and prestigious international event,” said the Costa Rican Vice President. “This is a great opportunity for sports organizations to exchange knowledge and promote the role of sports in fostering inclusion, discipline, respect and tolerance.”
With the participation of more than 60 national university sport federations – about 250 people from the five continents – the FISU World Forum 2022 will be for many a unique opportunity to reconnect.
“It will allow us to meet again in person after such a long period of pandemic and to open a new phase of face-to-face activities. For FISU, it is crucial,” said Rosaura Mendez (left picture), who is also member of the Organising Committee.
The Organizing Committee is ready to show the best of Costa Rica to the FISU family. And there is a lot in a country that is home to natural wonders such as volcanoes, beaches, forests, exceptional flora and fauna, and runs projects and initiatives combining sports, academics, sustainable development and innovation at both local and regional level.
