With only five day to go before the Torino 2025 FISU World University Games Opening Ceremony at the Inalpi Arena – there are still tickets available for this big event! – representatives from FISU, the Organising Committee and local authorities inaugurated two of the athletes villages.

The vice-mayor of Bardonecchia, Vittorio Montabone, the Torino 2025 FISU World University Games Organising Committee vice-president Riccardo D’Elicio and FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund were the first ones to cut an official ribbon and therefore start the festivities of the .

Under a beautiful blue sky and in the sun, the Bardonecchia athlete’s village was officially inaugurated with cheerful speeches – all in Italian – exchanges of gifts, smiles and best wishes for successful competitions and plenty of joy and friendship. The Italian, FISU and Torino 2025 FISU Games’ flags were raised during the respective anthems to mark the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the participants’ arrivals.

At 18h on the same day, it was the turn of the Mayor of Torino Stefano Lo Russo, Michela Favaro, Deputy Mayor of the City of Torino, FISU President Leonz Eder and Torino 2025 FISU World University Games Alessandro Ciro Sciretti to open the doors of one of the two athletes’ villages in Torino, Olimpia.

The 2564 participants – out of which1655 student-athletes – from 54 countries are all arriving in Piedmont, ready to give their best on the ice and on the snow.
