How your NUSF can support your university members to deliver a Dual Career programme

Ultimately it is the university that delivers the requirements for a Dual Career programme.

As a NUSF, there is limited impact that can be made on the actual delivery of the services provided by the university in a Dual Career programme. However, a NUSF can provide significant support for a university who is looking to develop a Dual Career programme. This support can include:

  • Provide a NUSF staff member to assist universities to develop a Dual Career programme.
  • Visit staff on campus to promote the importance of Dual Career programmes.
  • Compile reports showcasing the number of student-athletes in Olympic or Commonwealth Games teams.
  • Be an advocate for the importance of sport to be recognised (and supported) on campus.
  • Conduct research into the success of student-athletes.
  • NUSFs can help create a network of universities for sharing of information and collaboration.
  • Set up a scholarship fund for student-athletes with the requirement for universities to match the amount of financial support provided by the NUSF or double the amount in non financial support.
