It is important to create a network amongst the various departments within the university that can contribute to support your Dual Career programme.
Creating a network will connect a group of people from different departments who are all working to provide services for student-athletes. Having this network will ensure all these people are working in unison to deliver a successful Dual Career programme.
Sport can create networks and connections by:
- Inviting representatives from different departments to a sport information day showcasing elite athlete success.
- Hold a sports leaders event that invites student-athletes and representatives from departments and high level university dignitaries. This event can be a simple coffee break or breakfast held during work days.
- The event can showcase the success of student-athletes via interviews or a panel. Invite relevant persons from university departments to intervarsity events where sport is being showcased.
