History of Ski Jumping at FISU
Ski Jumping was part of the FISU Games programme from the inaugural event and up to 2017, except for in 1975. It was a compulsory sport until 2013 and now remains a recognised and optional sport, and was included on the programme in 2015, 2017, and 2023. Women’s competition was included as a demonstration discipline at the 22nd edition in 2005 in Innsbruck, Austria. Seven women participated there – three Austrian, two Japanese, one Norwegian, and one Slovene. However, the first woman had already competed in 2003 in Tarvisio, Italy. This was Eva GANSTER (AUT), whose result was counted together with those of all male competitors.
